Calling for Judges
FWA has two amazing projects underway and we need a few qualified judges to help us.
Dates for the duration of the competitions are:
RPLA (Royal Palm Literary Award) runs
from February 15 - July 31.
FWA Collection #4 runs from February 1 to June 1.

FWA Collection #4 - My Wheels
My Wheels is the title and theme for the 2012 FWA Collection #4. It's sixty short pieces, written by FWA members, submitted electronically, published by FWA, and marketed across the nation through national booksellers as well as on our own website. The Collection is published annually; each year presents a new theme and Person of Renown. This year’s Person of Renown is Julie Compton.
My Wheels is a story about solid objects or concepts. Every submission must be connected in some way with wheels. Any kind of wheels–think about it–Ferris wheels, wheels on vehicles, airplanes, grocery carts, skates, home decorations, landscaping. Or it can be connected with concepts. Was there a time when you felt like a “fifth-wheel”?

It seems like we're still full from the RPLA banquet dinner and it's already time to start thinking about our next submission. We're already working on our part, finding amazing judges, and creating the best possible competition for all of you.

The dates are set! RPLA 2012 runs from February 15th, 2012 to June 15th, 2012 so get your entries in! Don't forget entry fees only go up as time passes by.

We've booked our dates for the 2012 conference
October 19-21, 2012
Our 10th anniversary Florida Writers Association Conference was the biggest and best yet. We had record attendance with over 440 attending.
