The Orlando Marriott Lake Mary, which offers an FWA guaranteed room rate of $115 per night, is located just east of Orlando: 1501 International Parkway, Lake Mary, FL 32746, (800) 380-7724. Transportation may be arranged through EZ Time Transportation, (407) 509-8586.
NOTE: FWA’s Annual Conference is a member benefit. If you are not an FWA member and would like to attend, we welcome you, but there will be an additional $45 charge. You may elect to pay this charge and not become a member, or, you may join FWA for an annual fee of $45.
ENGAGE!• Find your agent. This is your time to hook up with the perfect agent. Collectively, our agents represent virtually every genre.
• Meet your publisher. Our publishing faculty represents every aspect of publishing, from traditional to self-, from hardcover to e-, and plenty in-between. One of them may be waiting for your manuscript.
• Find a Specialist. Our Specialist Faculty will give you a professional critique of your fiction, nonfiction, poetry and juvenile manuscripts. You can also sign up for a professional edit or learning how to pitch.
• Connect with a mentor. Our faculty has expertise in a wide range of issues, from how to use social media to how to self-edit your manuscript.
• Network. Every meal, every break, and every reception is a business meeting. FWA is all about Writers Helping Writers, and sometimes we get the most help from our friends—old and new.
SHOW YOUR STUFF!• Let FWA brag about you. If you’re a sponsor, exhibitor, or donor for our conference, we’ll let folks know—on our website and in our conference program.
• Become an award-winning author. At the RPLA Banquet Saturday night at the conference, you’ll find out who won the 2012 Royal Palm Literary Award competition (RPLA). The 2012 RPLA is now closed for submissions, but details for 2013 will be posted early next year. During the conference, you’ll also learn about FWA’s other competition: the Collection.
